Re-programming the mind

Did you know that you have been programmed? Whether this was through your parents, your environment, the company you keep, traumatic experiences…your mind has been conditioned to think the way it does.

Half of the work in becoming who you want to be, who you truly are, is realising you have been programmed. Realising the beliefs you hold, the limits on what you can and can’t achieve, your base assumptions and how you feel about yourself are most likely inputs from the external. This is half the work. To realise the extent of the brainwash.

The other half is to begin the journey to undo this. Repetition is one of the most powerful tools at your disposal. Just as the external programmed your mind to repeat in its incessant chatter the beliefs that others taught you to hold true, you must now replace all this old data with the data of your choice. This is where the power lies. Through repetition every day without fail you can counter the bombardment of thoughts and replace old data with new data you have selected.

1.) One way I do this is through using the app think up. It allows you to create different playlists of affirmations, record them in your own voice and play them on a loop. You can create a playlist for self confidence, weight loss, self love, health, gratitude, recovery from mental illness, stress relief, mental toughness, money, motivation, love, insomnia, abundance, studies… you name it. It’s all there. This is the new data which regularly repeated on a loop will reprogram the mind. You can listen in the gym, in the shower, on your commute to work, on a walk, when running errands. You can have specific playlists for different times of the day and to make a routine out of. Morning and evening. This is absolutely powerful and will shift the horizons of what you believe to possible. If you take anything from this post, invest in the app and use it with intentionality on a consistent basis to replace old programming with new programming you have selected.

2.) A second way I do this is through meditation. I have a morning and evening routine of meditations for specific issues I wish to work on as well as for beliefs I allowed the external to imprint in my mind which I have found difficult to shake off. No matter what is happening, no matter how you feel, begin your day with meditation. You can listen to several quick meditations in the morning for issues such as inner child healing, self love, etc and several before you sleep. This way you prop your morning and evening up with the thoughts you want to wake up to and the thoughts you want to fall asleep to. It doesn’t have to be difficult. You can meditate in bed- as soon as you wake up in the morning and just before sleep at night. This ultimately counters any programming such as negative encounters and interactions that may have taken place form the external while you were going about your day.

3.) Number three is the final and most important. You have to learn to choose what you want to interact with during the day. This is because anything has the potential to cause trauma and thus programming large and small. If you are in an environment that is consistently hostile – find a way to leave. If you have friends who frequently make snide remarks are disrespectful and do not bring positive energy- leave. This is not because you are weak but because this has the potential to programme your mind and your mind is all you have. Your mind is your prize, your gift and will determine just how spectacular you want your life to be and how unstoppable a force you wish to become. Recognising the avenues which have the potential to programme your mind is like constructing a dam in all the departments of your life you don’t want poisonous water to reach you. In this way it serves as prevention where the cure for the harmful water that does reach you is what I have outlined in points one and two. In circumstances where you are unable to leave you must create a habit of grounding yourself back into your own mind after the harm has been in your proximity. This grounding is up to you to establish. It can be deep breathing, taking a beak, creating a new present moment. Anything you wish. Recognise that harm can come in the form of traumatic news, negative company, a hostile co worker, disrespectful emails. If you do not act this has the possibility to program a belief that until that moment you did not hold. The mind is your garden and you absolutely need to control what and who has access to it as well as the potential for it to be influenced.

If you implement these three things your life will 100% change for the better and peace will descend into your mind body and soul. To read more about the mind and programming you can follow the work of Dr Joe Dispenza who has extensively elaborated on this topic.

Peace and blessings… and remember to never stop seeing the beauty in everything…

Reading about the beauty of Paradise

“The (members of the) first group which would get into Paradise will have their faces as bright as stars in the sky. They would neither pass water, nor void excrement, nor will they suffer from catarrh, nor will they spit, and their combs would be made of gold, and their sweat will be musk, the fuel of their brazier will be aloes, and their wives will be large-eyed maidens and their form would be alike as one single person after the form of their father (Adam) sixty cubits tall”. ~ Sahih Muslim 2834

New Niqabi 2

So I’ve started wearing niqab (TabarakAllah): see original post here. A friend made me a metallic/ shimmery dark purple half niqab that I wore today and… I felt absolutely beautiful 🌻.

London is in lockdown so I can’t really go anywhere except to the shops. I’m literally itching to go anywhere in niqab lol, I feel more excited than when I first wore hijab.

It’s interesting now I reflect on it that the feeling of internal beauty comes from God and God alone. Today was one of the most beautiful- feeling and confident days that I can remember yet no one could visibly see me.

I’m looking forward to embarking on this niqab journey and cultivating this feeling of internal bliss and calm.

You are so safe

You cannot operate outside of the divine grid and divine will. It is not possible. I didn’t previously understand what was meant by “no fear no grief” in Islam. I think I do now.

You are encompassed by Allah. He is with you and closer than your jugular vein, around you beside you and situated on a throne above you. His power is such that your life is not your life. You are suspended on a string hanging from His will. Nothing belongs to you; everything you own including your body and everything you lay eyes on, hear and touch are His materials.

You can do what makes you afraid therefore, fundamentally because you are surrounded and propped up by safety and power. Likewise there is no grief…nothing is a loss, everything is a gain…in a spiritual ecosystem we can’t see. Nothing to grieve about disproportionately…You are so safe.

Power and consequently safety is before, behind, above and below you and you breathe it in and out. No fear no grief. Only divine unbreakable power when you make the All-mighty Allah, Light of the worlds your shield and refuge.

I am pretty sure this is the state Malcolm attained: “I have no fear whatsoever of anybody or anything”.

“No fear no grief” is a divine promise and taxonomy depicting the righteous human’s condition in relation to worldly circumstance…an objectively factual equation explaining our reality once we relate dialectically and eventually operate in harmony with the mysteries of the created universe. It provides a framework for what is happening behind the shroud of matter which we can adjust and ascend to in order to live as Allah intended us to. Without fear. Without grief.

Note to self and whoever needs this

There is absolutely nothing to be worried about.

Everything lies in the palm of your Lord.

I remember hearing a scholar saying the nature of this life is like when you throw a baby up in the air and for a split second the child is suspended in a moment of panic.

That split second of panic is this life but we will always land in God’s loving embrace. Relax, you are loved. Everything will be ok.

You don’t need the anxiety narrative anymore. You once needed that narrative to survive but you have to realise that you have now transcended the necessity for that mindset.

Settle into the new mind you are building and allow it become your new and present reality…you can and will do it… we got this!

Self-love

Self-love is not optional. It is survival. Self-love means that you can never give up on yourself, despair of your appearance, character, words or actions. It means to always find a solution, to be positive, to persevere, to accept the whole whether society does or not. To nourish oneself, to treat with utmost gentleness and to forgive. But also to be diligent, hardworking and not make excuses. Self-love is to stare in awe at your appearance- that you have the honour and fortitude to look like you do and inhabit the body you have been given. And to protect and preserve the mind, body and soul from harm. Self love is life- how many people have died from low self-esteem? Many. Self love if you have it is a supreme achievement, unquantifiable and a secret most of the world needs and is trying to discover.

happiness

conscious air softly bellows a frequency

that observes my still prayer

momentarily

a moment of haqq:

nothing and everything holds me upright

tenderly,

and the earth is my prayer mat

and creation moves with me and unfolds around me.

and He is certainly the most High.
